Flyby Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Flyby stores, when information leaves your device, and the choices available to you.

Effective date: August 1, 2026
Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Introduction and scope

One Thirteen (“Operator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located in the United States, operates Flyby and is the data controller or business responsible for the processing described in this policy, where those terms apply.

This Privacy Policy covers the Flyby application, this standalone Flyby website, and related Flyby pages on the One Thirteen website. Flyby is a drone-flight planning, weather, airspace-awareness, flight-logging, and recreational simulation application.

This standalone Flyby website does not use PostHog. Flyby pages on the One Thirteen website use PostHog to understand page visits and interactions. PostHog is separate from the TelemetryDeck analytics used inside the Flyby app. The One Thirteen website implementation uses browser local storage, not analytics cookies, to maintain its analytics state. It may collect page views, clicks, scroll activity, browser and device information, and masked session recordings; text and form inputs are configured to be masked. Website analytics is used to maintain and improve the site, not for cross-site behavioral advertising. PostHog and the website host may also receive ordinary technical request information, such as an IP address. See the PostHog Privacy Notice.

2. Privacy summary

Some limited information is processed by service providers when you use analytics, purchases, maps, weather, airspace data, notifications, optional Game Center features, or other network-connected functionality. The sections below explain those situations.

3. Information stored locally

You may enter, import, select, or generate the following information in Flyby:

This information generally remains on your device until you delete it, reset the relevant feature, or remove Flyby. Cached information may be overwritten or automatically removed as it becomes outdated.

4. Location information

Flyby can ask for access to your precise location while you use the app. Flyby uses location to provide local weather, maps, nearby launch information, airspace awareness, flight-condition scoring, and flight-planning functionality.

You can deny location access or revoke it later in iOS Settings. Some location-based features will not work correctly without permission. You can still enter or select saved locations without using your device’s current location.

5. Apple services

Flyby uses Apple platform services to provide core features:

Apple processes information under its own Privacy Policy. Apple handles payment-card information; Flyby and the Operator do not receive that card information.

Where Apple Foundation Models are available, Flyby’s generated flight summaries are produced on your device rather than sent to a generative-AI service operated by us.

6. Analytics

Flyby app analytics

Flyby uses TelemetryDeck for limited product analytics. TelemetryDeck may process:

Flyby does not intentionally send TelemetryDeck precise location, saved locations, flight plans, GPX tracks, flight-log contents, aircraft profiles, pilot limits, names, email addresses, or advertising identifiers. Based on TelemetryDeck’s published documentation, TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses.

For more information, see TelemetryDeck’s Privacy Policy and Privacy FAQ.

Flyby website analytics

This standalone Flyby website does not use PostHog. As described in the introduction, Flyby pages on the One Thirteen website use PostHog for site analytics and masked session replay. These website events are separate from Flyby’s app analytics and do not include the personal flight records stored in the app.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

Flyby uses RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat may process:

Because Flyby has no user-account system, Flyby does not currently assign RevenueCat an account name, email address, or Flyby login. Apple handles payment-card information. For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

8. Government and public-data services

Flyby retrieves FAA UAS Facility Map and related airspace information. Requests may include a map region or geographic coordinates needed to return relevant airspace cells.

Flyby also retrieves NOAA geomagnetic and Kp information. Those requests do not intentionally include your precise location.

Network operators, hosting providers, and the services receiving these requests may receive ordinary technical request information, such as an IP address. See the FAA Privacy Policy and the NOAA Privacy Policy web address (currently unavailable) or NOAA’s official privacy-policy PDF.

9. LAANC handoff

Flyby shows FAA facility-map information and can direct you to approved Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) providers. Flyby does not submit, approve, store, or manage LAANC authorization requests.

When you leave Flyby and choose a LAANC provider, that provider’s terms and privacy policy govern your use of its service.

10. Notifications

Planned-flight notifications are scheduled through Apple notification and background-processing systems. Your notification preferences are stored locally. Flyby does not operate a marketing push-notification list.

Notification delivery is not guaranteed. Do not rely on an alert or notification for safety-critical information.

11. Retention and deletion

You may Contact us with an applicable privacy request. Because Flyby has no user account and its analytics identifiers are anonymous, we may sometimes be unable to associate a backend record with a particular person without additional identifying information.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information handled by Flyby. These measures include limiting the information sent to service providers, keeping personal flight records local by default, and relying on platform security and encrypted network connections where supported.

No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure. We cannot promise absolute security or guarantee that a security incident will never occur.

13. Children

Flyby is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have received such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, use Flyby only with permission from a parent or guardian.

14. International processing

Some providers may process information outside your state, province, or country, where privacy laws may differ. Where required by applicable law, we and our providers use appropriate contractual, organizational, or technical safeguards for these transfers. This statement does not claim any unverified certification or transfer mechanism.

15. Privacy rights, changes, and contact

Your privacy rights depend on where you live. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal information we process. You may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, or to appeal a response.

To make a request, Contact us. We may need enough information to understand and verify your request, but we will not ask for information that is unnecessary for that purpose.

We may update this policy as Flyby or the law changes. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how Flyby handles information, we will provide additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel when required.
